In Ringstead Bay there is a reef that is visible at low tide. I was surprised as I walked to the beach that I could hear the sound of waves crashing on the shore, which I had not expected as it was flat calm. The reef was causing the waves to form as the tide was coming in over the rocks.
I enjoyed a lovely swim, spoke to two other swimmers and their dog and said hello to a couple of kayakers. When I got out I watched a surfer, swimming out to catch the waves caused by the reef. He was very good at it, but there weren’t many big enough to ride on, but he made the most of it, and it was lovely to watch him.
