5th January 2022
I like to look at the upcoming weather forecast for the week ahead and during January I am mainly looking for sunshine and light winds. I prefer to plan my winter swim to coincide with a high tide too, as this means that total immersion is quick after leaving the shore. As the air temperature was only 2ÂșC this morning, I was keen to get into the relatively warmer sea as swiftly as I could.
High tide this morning was at sunrise, which was at 08.11 in Weymouth. I got into the water a few minutes before this, but there was a little bit of cloud obscuring the sun casting a pink glow on the one cloud above me.
The experience was totally exhilarating, both visually and physically. I swam for 10 minutes before I knew my body temperature was dropping and I should get out.
Fantastic photos Sandy! We were in at 7.30 this morning so must have just missed you. Hopefully see you again soon.
Graham say to tell you he loves the pictures. I would like to know who takes them, someone else up early in the morning, no doubt. Take care, keep safe
I am pleased that he likes them! Yes, I am fortunate to have a husband who enjoys coming with me so he can take photos, and often helps me get dressed quickly after I get out!
