I surprised my husband last week with a week’s holiday in Cornwall to celebrate his 60th birthday. I chose a place to stay close to the River Helford in the hope that I could swim. The weather forecast did not look too promising when we arrived, but I managed 3 swims, taking advantage of the moments when the sun appeared.
In this little cove, sea grass grows, much like it does in Portland Harbour where I regularly swim. There were plenty of other swimmers using this spot and I would imagine it gets quite busy in the summer but not in November. I did meet with a group of ladies who were staying nearby and have been visiting this place regularly for the last 20 years. You meet such nice people in the water!
