Swimming through January has been a really amazing experience. It is days like today, when the water is so calm, that are my absolute favourite times to be in the sea. I was really hopeful that the sunshine would come out this morning too. It just about broke through the clouds to give me that wonderful surge of contentment from being at one with nature.
I didn’t swim far, I just bathed in the cool water watching the glimmer of the sunshine bouncing off the surface of the ripples as I moved.
Don’t women have more body fat than men, or is it some other reason there are more ladies cold water swimming??? Mind you, not this lady Sandy. I did look at the water at Overcome the other day & at the swimmers, but I still didn’t feel the urge to swim.
Thanks Judie, I think body fat does make a difference in how long you can stay in cold water. People of all shapes and sizes swim in the sea, which makes it such a positive activity!
Graham says, ” Don’t go in the water if you are alone”.
This is very good advice, and Graham is very wise.
